There are lots of simple ways individuals and families can reduce their carbon footprint. You can:

- Measure your carbon footprint.
- In collaboration with the Canadian Standards Association, the Climate Change Directorate created an online Carbon Calculator. You can calculate the greenhouse gases that are emitted by heating and powering your home, commuting to and from work, and going on vacation. Check it out here.
- Conserve energy at home.
