the Climate Change Team

Jason Hollett

Acting Director, Climate Change

Jason began working in the Climate Change Directorate in 2006 while the file still resided at the Department of Energy. He had previously spent two years at a Southwest Shore non-governmental organization helping communities and businesses address climate change issues and opportunities. Jason took time away from climate change to coordinate the ecoNova Scotia for Clean Air and Climate Change fund. He rejoined the directorate in 2008 at Nova Scotia Environment.

Jason has a Bachelor of Commerce from Saint Mary's University, and a Bachelor of Education from Mount Saint Vincent University.

Jason and his family reduce their carbon footprint by choosing to live close to their work and school to avoid using their vehicle.

Michelle Miller

Policy Analyst

Michelle joined the Climate Change Directorate in 2009. She first became interested in climate change while educating and promoting environmentally sustainable practices to producers as the coordinator of both the Agri-Conservation Club and Environmental Farm Plan Program. This interest led to her postgraduate research which studied nitrous oxide emissions in agricultural soils.

Michelle has a B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Nova Scotia Agricultural College and a Ph.D. from University of Guelph.

To reduce her carbon footprint, Michelle built an energy efficient new home, buys local food, recycles and composts, and carpools to work.
